It seems that everyone has
"swimming with dolphins" on their list of things to
do before they kick the bucket. Well, I did too, and so while
my wife Michelle and I were visiting the Bahamas, we took a trip
to Dolphin Cay on Paradise Island to experience being in the
water with these amazing animals.
These were not just any bottlenose
dolphins, many of them had been rescued from Gulfport, Mississippi
after Hurricane Katrina so it had a special meaning for me since
I myself rode out that devastating hurricane in Gulfport. We
got swim and snorkel with one and even get pushed across the
lagoon on a surfboard by one.
If you ever get the chance
to swim with dolphins, go for it. It is an incredible experience
and a worthy bucket list item.
