The west coast of Vancouver
Island is a great place to watch Pacific winter storms roll in
and the Wickaninnish
Inn in Tofino is built right on the
water's edge for just such a purpose. In the winter months, people
come from all over to watch the storms. How could I not go there?
Big surf coming in off the Pacific.
Big, crashing waves, all day
long.
Every year, people are injured
or swept out to sea.
Surfers in Canada... In February!
Because of its position on the
Pacific "Ring of Fire", the area is in a tsunami warning
zone.
The secret "Blowhole"
